Meet Jennifer

Jennifer Gillham received her bachelor’s degree in communications and multimedia with a focus on journalism, interning at a major newspaper’s Washington D.C. bureau. Her master’s degree is in English with a focus on creative writing.

For over a decade, Jennifer worked as a ghostwriter on twenty-five business books and memoirs — including the story of a pilot who survived a plane crash, and a fellow military spouse who used writing to process the trauma of her husband losing the ability to walk during a mission.

But the story she’d been circling for almost twenty years was her own.

Jennifer has been a military spouse for nearly two decades, moving her family from coast to coast and overseas, currently navigating another move halfway around the world. Along the way, she’s led Bible studies, mentored military spouses, taught life-skills courses in her community, and — through it all — kept showing up for her family, her faith, and the people around her.

Our Battle Cry carries a foreword written by Mrs. Betty Welsh, spouse of the former Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force — a woman Jennifer met at a military spouse roundtable.
